Ghana Premier League holders Bibiani GoldStars will look to add another trophy to their cabinet when they host Asante Kotoko in the Champion-of-Champions clash at the Duns Park on August 31.
GoldStars will battle the Ghana FA Cup winners for the coveted trophy after clinching their first-ever GHALCA Top Four tournament on Sunday at the Legon Sports Stadium.
Goldstars defender Vincent Atinga is confident about his team’s chances heading into Ghana’s version of the Super Cup.
“We are preparing very well for the game. We will beat Kotoko to win the Champion of Champions trophy. I have won it before, so I just have to talk to my teammates and share the little experience I have in the game, then we are good to go. Kotoko is a big club no doubt about that, but we are also Goldstars,” he told the club’s media.
The Champion-of-Champions forms part of both teams’ preparation for the upcoming CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns respectively.
Goldstars will face JS Kabylie in the Champions League while Kotoko take on Nigeria club Kwara United next month in the preliminary stages of both competitions.
