“GoldStars will be a target next season” – Frimpong Manso

Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Desmond Frimpong Manso has said that the club will be a target in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

The Western North Region club clinched their first Premier League title last season before adding the 2025 GHALCA Top Four tournament at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Gold Stars will represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and coach Frimpong Manso says next season will be tough for his side.

“We will be the target, although Kotoko and Hearts still have the name [and] any time any team is playing against them they double up,” Frimpong Manso said. “But this time around I think we will also add up to that number so it tells us that we will have to double up when the league resumes.”

Gold Stars will now face Asante Kotoko in the 2025 Champion-of-Champions against FA Cup winners, Asante Kotoko at the Duns Park on Sunday August 31.
