Former Gor Mahia official Sally Bolo believes the club’s recent run of poor results is down to the players, who are not giving it all during matchday.
The record Kenyan champions suffered their fourth defeat of the season after going down 1-0 against Kenya Police FC at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.
The defeat saw Gor Mahia go for three straight matches without a win. Their last victory in the top-flight came in the 3-2 result against FC Talanta on December 8. They then lost 1-0 against Bidco United, drew 1-1 against Shabana before losing to Police.
According to Bollo, Gor Mahia players must adjust their attitude and start to play as a unit to realise positive results. “I believe something is seriously off at Gor Mahia, and coaching isn’t the issue,” Bolo told Pan-Africa Football.
“The real problem lies with the players; there’s no teamwork at all, and everyone seems to be doing their own thing on and off the pitch. It’s time for the squad to adjust their attitude and start playing as a unit.”
K’Ogalo’s performances this season saw them fire head coach Leonardo Martins Neiva with only six matches played. The Brazilian was replaced by Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno on an interim basis.
The latest defeat saw Gor Mahia drop to eigth on the 18-team table with 18 points from 12 matches. They have won five matches, drawn three and lost four.
