Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia stretched their lead at the summit to six points following their convincing 3-0 FKF Premier League win against KCB at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
The record Kenyan champions had seen their lead reduced to three points following AFC Leopards’ 2-1 win against Posta Rangers on Saturday. Gor Mahia went into the fixture knowing that a win was necessary to keep Leopards at bay.

In a fixture which was played under heavy rains, Gor Mahia took control from the onset, and should have gone ahead with only five minutes played. A move from the right fell to Shariff Musa, but the forward failed to convert.
Gor Mahia’s relentless attacks on KCB finally paid off in the 24th minute. Shariff Musa made amends from his missed opportunity to set up Enock Morisson, who thundered home a long-range effort past goalkeeper Arnold Monzobo.
Musa then found the back of the net for the second after a brilliant move from the left side before Samuel Kapen wrapped up the huge victory for K’Ogalo.
The win enabled Gor Mahia to take their tally of points to 46 points, six more than second-placed AFC Leopards. Gor Mahia have managed 14 wins, four draws, and lost three times.
In other results, defending champions Kenya Police FC and newly promoted side APS Bomet FC played out to a 0-0 draw in the Police derby staged at the Police Sacco stadium, while Mara Sugar humbled Ulinzi Stars 2-1.
