Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia continued with their fine start to the 2025-26 season following a 2-0 victory against champions Kenya Police FC at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
Gor Mahia started the game on a high, scoring the opener inside 120 minutes when on-form Felix Oluoch found the back of the net, before Shariff Musa added a quick second to seal the emphatic win.
A move initiated from midfielder Austin Odhiambo delivered Gor Mahia the opening goal. Odhiambo slid in a pass to Tobias Otieno, who spotted the Ebenezer Adukwaw. The Ghanaian then spotted Oluoch, who beat goalkeeper Job Ochieng with a low ball.
In the 30th minute, Musa then sealed the win for K’Ogalo, producing a world class finish past Ochieng. The win enabled Gor Mahia to move top of the 18-team league table with 16 points, two more than second-placed Kakamega Homeboyz.
Gor Mahia have won five matches, drawn one and lost one. Meanwhile, the defeat saw the law enforcers drop to 11th with eight points accumulated from two wins, two draws, and one defeat.
In another top match, Kisii-based Shabana FC returned to winning ways after defeating Ulinzi Stars 1-0 at Ulinzi Sports Complex. The win enabled Tore Bore to end their five game winless run.
Shabana captain Mark Okola scored the all-important goal after powering home a bullet header to condemn Ulinzi Stars to their fourth defeat of the season.
The win saw Shabana move two places up to position seventh with 11 points. Elsewhere, promoted APS Bomet secured a 1-1 draw against Mathare United, while Bandari FC drew 1-1 against KCB.
