Gor Mahia release Samuel Onyango and Boniface Omondi

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League outfit Gor Mahia have released Samuel Onyango and Boniface Omondi following the expiry of their contracts with the club.

“We have formally notified Boniface Omondi and Samuel Onyango that their contracts that were set to end in August and September 2025 respectively will not be renewed upon expiry and such, we have parted ways,” said a statement on the club’s social media pages.

“We appreciate their services and wish them all the best.”

The decision to release the two players comes just a few weeks after the club sacked the entire technical bench led by Zedekiah Otieno citing poor results. Otieno was fired alongside assistant coach Michael Nam.

Gor Mahia finished the 2024/25 season without silverware after they were pipped to the FKF Premier League crown by Kenya Police FC with a game to spare, before losing 2-1 against Nairobi United in the final of the domestic FKF Cup.
