Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia remained winless from the last three FKF Premier League following their 1-1 draw against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Sports Grounds on Friday.
The record Kenyan champions’ last league win came on November 22 when they edged out Tusker 1-0. Since then, they have gone ahead to lose two matches and drawn one.
After the Brewers game, Gor Mahia came up against promoted side APS Bomet and they suffered a shock 4-1 defeat before they confronted rivals AFC Leopards in the 98th Mashemeji derby, in a game they lost 1-0.
Pressure is now building on coach Charles Akonnor following the 1-1 draw against the Dockers. Against the Coastal-based side, Ghanaian import Ebenzer Adukwaw tapped in to put Gor Mahia ahead in the 31st minute.
However, former Gor Mahia youth team graduate Geoffrey Ojunga came back to haunt his side after he levelled matters for Bandari. The draw saw Gor Mahia move top of the 18-team Premier League table with 20 points from 11 matches.
In another match at Bukhungu Stadium, Shabana produced late goals to secure a 2-2 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz. The Kakamega-based side scored first from penalty spot converted by Potiphar Odhiambo.
Homeboyz held onto the lead until the stoppages when Shabana drew level also from the penalty spot. Bronson Nsubuga took the honours to make it 1-1.
However, there was late drama as Homeboys scored through Oliver Majaka to make it 2-1.
With the referee looking at his watch to end the game, Tore Bore produced another superb counter attack which resulted to Wycliffe Omondi rising the highest to head home and make it 2-2.
Homeboyz remained second with 20 points, while Shabana moved to fifth with 19 matches points from 12 matches.
