
Amine Gouiri, the Marseille new Algerian winger, shared his thoughts on his new experience at the club and praised his Algerian teammate Ismaël Bennacer following Marseille’s recent victory against Angers in Ligue 1.
Marseille secured a 2-0 win over Angers in the 21st round of the French league, with Gouiri playing a key role by providing two assists for his teammates Adrian Rabiot and Neal Maupay.
Speaking to DAZN Germany, as reported by Ennaharonline, Gouiri said: "I feel very good. I am enjoying in this team. I work hard every day to maintain my level and to be consistent."
The former Rennes player also spoke about his teammate and fellow Algerian international Ismaël Bennacer. "Ismaël has experience and is a true leader. He knows this type of group," Gouiri stated.
He further emphasized Bennacer’s potential influence on the team in his opinion, adding: "Bennacer will help us a lot both on and off the pitch. He will bring us great addition."
Amine Gouiri joined Marseille in a deal reportedly worth €19 million plus €3 million in add-ons. The Algerian winger signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. The 23-year-old arrived at Marseille after spending two seasons at Rennes, having been signed for €28 million from Nice in 2022.
Since his arrival to Marseille, Gouiri has made an instant impact registering an assist in his debut match against Lyon (a 3-2 victory) and delivering two assists in the win over Angers.
After these back-to-back victories, Marseille now sits second in the Ligue 1 standings with 43 points, trailing league leaders Paris Saint-Germain by 10 points.
