Algerian international Amine Gouiri delivered an outstanding performance on Saturday, leading Olympique Marseille to a 3-1 victory over Lens in the 19th round of the French Ligue 1.
Gouiri started the match and made an immediate impact, opening the scoring in the third minute to give Marseille an early advantage.
The Algerian striker continued to trouble the Lens defense returning in the 75th minute to score his second goal of the night and Marseille’s third, sealing the win for the southern club.
Amine Gouiri was substituted in the 80th minute after a highly influential display. The Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replaced him.
With this brace, the Algerian forward has now raised his tally to 4 goals in 9 Ligue 1 appearances this season, in addition to one assist.
After this victory, Marseille now sit third in the Ligue 1 standings with 38 points, trailing leaders Paris Saint-Germain by seven points
