Evann Guessand and Youssouf Ndayishimiye were announced as co-winners of OGC Nice's Player of the Season award. The Ivorian striker and the Burundian defender received 30% of the fan vote each, earning them a shared title of ‘Eagle of the Season.’
Guessand proved himself to be a reliable goal scorer, netting eleven goals in the French Ligue 1. The 23-year-old also provided six assists as Franck Haise’s side looks to secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. His strong goal scoring form has had a positive impact on the Southern France club, with fans turning out in large numbers to vote him as one of the Players of the Season.
The energetic Ndayishimiye, 26, was a key figure in Nice’s defense. The Burundian, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, consistently demonstrated his quality throughout the Ligue 1 campaign. Unfortunately, his season was cut short in April due to a torn ACL, but his contributions were pivotal to Nice’s success this year.
The awards will be presented to both players during the final match of the season against Brest.
