Before the upcoming 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire will face off in a friendly match on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The match will take place at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
Based on a mutual agreement the game will be held behind closed doors at the request of the coaches of both teams. The Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot) announced this decision on their official website, stating:
"At the request of the coaches of the two teams, the Guinean Football Federation and the Ivorian Football Federation have agreed that this preparation match will take place behind closed doors."
Looking ahead to the qualifiers, Guinea is set to play against Guinea-Bissau in a two-legged tie on December 20 and 28 as part of the second qualifying round of CHAN 2024 in the WAFU-Zone A region. Meanwhile, Côte d'Ivoire will face Burkina Faso in their own double confrontation on December 22 and 29 in the WAFU-Zone B region of qualifying.
