The Guinea-Bissau Football Federation (FFGB) has suspended some of the country's biggest names in football. The decision was made by the governance and audit commission of the federation.
According to Fut245's Bonifácio Malam Sanhá, Adilé Domingos Sebastião and Abdu Mané have been barred from the country's football scene for the next 10 years. Sanhá is the head of the country's clubs union and previously served as vice president of the FFGB. Mané was also previously an official at the FFGB and served as president of Cupelum FC. Sebastião unsuccessfully ran for president of the FFGB back in 2024.
The federation allegedly reached this decision after the officials were accused of grave misconduct. In addition to these three officials, the governance body also suspended the outgoing president of Desportivo de Quelelé, Fernando Gomes, for 10 years and the technical director of FC Cuntum, Constantino João Moreira, for 5 years.
The club officials were ardent supporters of Sebastião in the last elective general assembly where Caíto Teixeira won a second term and the move is considered to be a retaliation by Teixeira. The suspended officials vowed to fight back to reverse the decision.
