Guinea-Bissau striker Norberto Gomes Bertuncal, popularly known as Beto, registered a goal as Everton gave away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against struggling Ipswich Town on Saturday.
The Toffees were the better side at the Goodison Park where their strength in midfield and the wings caused havoc for the Ipswich defence.
A well cut out cross from the left side of Ipswich’s half by Carlos Alcaraz located Beto whose thumping header opened the score for David Moyes charges with just 26 minutes played.
Everton left nothing to chance with their wide play, where Nathan Patterson from the right wing set up Dwight McNeil at about 35-yards. The 25-year-old England midfielder’s rasping left footed strike doubled the lead for the home side on the 35th minute.
However, Ipswich came to the Goodison Park for real business and they pulled one back with four minutes to end the first half. Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso rose to the occasion after he wove past two Everton defenders before his screaming strike from 30-yards pegged the game at 2-1 going into the break.
The second half brought more life in Ipswich which saw them pull level on the 79th minute mark. English forward George Hirst found himself in the right position to head home Omari Hutchinson’s sweet cross to settle the game at 2-2 in full time.
Beto has been in fine form for Everton, scoring his 7th of the season from 27 league matches. He played 77 minutes, registering five shots on target.
