Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy has written a small piece of history with Borussia Dortmund after scoring in the away 4-2 win over Leverkusen on Sunday.
Dortmund's website described Serhou Guirassy’s goal as historic, saying he is now in seventh place among Bundesliga goal scorers with 63 goals in 100 appearances for the club.
“It was Guirassy's 63rd goal on his 100th Bundesliga appearance. Only six players have scored as many or more goals in their first 100 matches, including two other Dortmund players. Timo Konietzka (72 goals), Dieter Müller, Uwe Seeler (both 66), Roy Makaay, Lothar Emmerich (both 64), and Rudolf Brunnenmeier (also 63),” Borussia Dortmund website reads.
The 29-year-old striker has now scored in four consecutive Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund for the first time in his career. With 20 league goals, Serhou Guirassy is five goals behind Bundesliga leading scorer Harry Kane who plays for newly crowned champions Bayern Munich.
“The Dortmund player's tally of 13 goals in the second-half season is four more than any other player,” the website adds.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten in seven Bundesliga matches and have won each of their last four games.
The Guinean striker Guirassy recently said the best was yet to come from him after showing his true potential this season to emerge as the UEFA Champions League leading scorer with 13 goals.
"My season is going well. I'm one of the top scorers in the Bundesliga and also in the Champions League. But you can always improve. [My season] is very good. But it's no surprise to me. I know that I can be a very good goalscorer. This year I'm proving that in a major competition. I have to continue in this vein and become even more efficient," he said.
The Guinean steered Borussia Dortmund to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 win over Barcelona in mid-April 2025. However, the Bundesliga side still bowed out of the continental race due to an away 4-0 loss to the La Liga leaders in Spain.
