Borussia Dortmund goal machine Serhou Guirassy continued his fine run of form on Sunday, scoring the final goal in Dortmund's 4-2 Bundesliga victory at Bayer Leverkusen.
The Guinea national team hitman collected a loose ball out side the Leverkusen penalty area and created space to fire a powerful low effort past goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky. Guirassy's 20th league goal of the campaign put visitors Dortmund beyond reach for their fourth consecutive Bundesliga victory.
Dortmund are now only one point out of the top-4 and a place at the UEFA Champions League next season. With a very winnable match against Holstein Kiel in their final league match next Saturday, this season's Champions League quarterfinalists could very well sneak back into the top continental competition on the final day.
The two teams above Dortmund, Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt, will meet on the final day with only two points separating 5th place Dortmund from 3rd place Frankfurt who are currently losing to St. Pauli at the time of writing. If the result holds, Dortmund will be guaranteed to qualify with a victory against Kiel.
Guirassy has now scored in his last five matches for Dortmund, accumulating eight goals and two assists during this stretch going back to Dortmund's 3-1 second leg Champions League quarterfinal victory over FC Barcelona. The French-Guinean striker has 33 goals and 9 assists in 44 matches across all competitions this season.
