Habib Diarra and Talbi shine as Sunderland cruise past Burnley

African talents Habib Diarra of Senegal and Morocco’s Chemsdine Talbi were the driving force behind Sunderland’s emphatic 3–0 victory over Burnley in the English Premier League.

Sunderland opened the scoring when Habib Diarra unleashed a shot that took a deflection off Burnley defender Axel Tuanzebe and found its way into the net. The goal was officially recorded as an own goal for Tuanzebe, but Diarra’s intent was clear.

The Senegalese midfielder then doubled Sunderland’s advantage in the 32nd minute, finishing from inside the penalty area after another attacking move, underlining his growing influence in the team.

Chemsdine Talbi put the result beyond doubt with a stunning long-range strike, sending the ball into the top corner to seal the three-goal triumph for the “Black Cats” and cap a dominant performance from the home side.

With this victory, Sunderland raised their tally to 36 points and climbed to eighth place in the league standings, while Burnley remain on 15 points, stuck in 19th position.

The win highlighted the significant impact of African players in one of the world’s toughest leagues, with Diarra and Talbi proving their importance to Sunderland’s ambitions this season.
