Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra continued his good form with Sunderland A.F.C., leading the Black Cats to the Round of 16 in the FA Cup.
Sunderland secured a narrow 1–0 victory away from home against Oxford United F.C., with Diarra scoring the decisive goal in the 32nd minute. The Senegal international converted a penalty successfully to give his side the advantage before being substituted in the 64th minute.
The goal marks Diarra’s second in his last four appearances for Sunderland. He previously found the net against Burnley, before being kept quiet in fixtures against Arsenal and Liverpool. His latest contribution underlines his growing influence in the squad during the season.
The draw for the FA Cup Round of 16 is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 16, as Sunderland will know their next challenge in England’s prestigious domestic competition.
