Habib Diarra fires Sunderland to Premier League away win over Leeds

Senegalese midfielder Habib Diarra delivered a decisive performance as Sunderland AFC secured a 1-0 victory away to Leeds United in Round 29 of the Premier League.

Diarra netted the only goal of the match in the 70th minute from the penalty spot. The spot-kick was awarded for his teammate Wilson Isidor. Diarra stepped up, and although his effort was near to be saved by the goalkeeper, the ball rebounded and crossed the line to give Sunderland the lead.

The goal marked Diarra’s first strike in the Premier League this season — a timely breakthrough for the Senegalese attacker in a tightly contested encounter.

With the victory, Sunderland climb to 40 points in 11th place, strengthening their mid-table position. Meanwhile, Leeds United remain on 31 points in 15th place.
