Hakimi assists as PSG advance to UEFA Champions League round of 16

Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi provided an assist as Paris Saint-Germain FC were held to a 2-2 draw by AS Monaco FC in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoff round for a place in the Round of 16.

The match ended in a 2-2 stalemate, but PSG secured qualification thanks to their 3-2 victory in the first leg, progressing on aggregate to the last 16 of the competition.

Hakimi played a key role in his side’s second goal in the 66th minute. The Moroccan defender unleashed a strike from outside the penalty area that was parried by Monaco’s goalkeeper, before his teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia capitalized on the rebound and slotted the ball into the net.

Achraf Hakimi had also found the back of the net in the first-leg victory over AS Monaco FC, meaning he played a decisive role across both matches. With a goal in the first leg and an assist in the return fixture, the Moroccan full-back made a crucial overall contribution to Paris Saint-Germain FC’s qualification for the UCL Round of 16.
