Togo midfielder Halid Djankpata has opened up on his impressions so far following his first senior call up.
The 20-year-old, who plies his trade in the Italian Serie C for AS Gubbio, is among the 26-man squad named by coach Patrice Neveu for their two international friendlies against Guinea and Niger this month.

Speaking to the national team’s media, the former Everton youth player expressed confidence in the team’s preparation.
“We had a good training session. I think the team has a lot of potential. We feel good. We trained well,” he said.
“Yes, I’m really looking forward to it. We’re in good shape.
“Obviously, with the new coach, we’re discovering new tactics; everything is new with him. We have quality, and I think we can achieve a lot.”
According to the player, everything is going well for his debut with the national team.
The welcome has been warm, and Halid Djankpata is eager to get started.
“Obviously, my debut with Togo is going well. They gave me a very warm welcome, and you know, we have a new team. It’s very motivating, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Togo will play two friendly matches during this international break. The Sparrowhawks will face Guinea on March 27 in Rabat.
Four days later, they will play Niger in Casablanca with Halid Djankpata eying an opportunity to showcase his skills on the pitch.
This season, he has played 24 matches, including 16 starts in Serie C. He has one goal and one assist under his belt.
