Hamza Igamane debuts with two goals as Lille crushes Lorient

Only a day after joining his new club, Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane produced for Lille with two goals in a 7-1 drubbling of Lorient on Saturday in Ligue 1.

The former AS FAR Rabat star, whose arrival from Scottish club Rangers was only announced the day before, came on as a halftime substitute and joined in as visitors Lille scored SEVEN goals. After a scoreless first half, Lille took the lead through Romain Perraud in the opening minute of the second half before Mathias Fernandez-Pardo doubled the advantage in the 53rd minute.

With the game at 3-1, Igamane showed his pace and power with his first Lille goal in the 80th minute. Bursting past two defenders to create an opportunity, the 22-year-old arrived to finish after an initial effort came off the crossbar. An easy tap-in in stoppage time confirmed a brace for the Moroccan before fellow Atlas Lion, Osame Sahraoui, added one more goal to complete the destruction.

Lille have seven points through their opening three Ligue 1 games, guaranteeing a top-four position by the end of the round. The Dogues will next face Toulouse at home on September 14.
