Zamalek assistant coach Hazem Emam has officially resigned from his position within the technical staff of Belgian manager Yannick Ferrera.
Emam submitted his resignation to Abdel Nasser Mohamed, Zamalek’s football director, before the matter was discussed between John Edward, the club’s sporting director, and head coach Ferrera. After internal talks, the resignation was accepted by the club.
In an official statement, Zamalek’s football management expressed gratitude to Hazem Emam for his efforts and contributions during his time with the team, acknowledging his role and work throughout the recent period.
Club president Hussein Labib is expected to hold a meeting with sporting director John Edward to decide on Emam’s replacement within Ferrera’s coaching staff. The meeting will focus on selecting a suitable candidate after consulting with the Belgian coach.
Emam had been absent from Zamalek’s bench since the Egyptian Premier League match against Ghazl El Mahalla. His departure comes a day after the team’s emphatic 6–0 victory over Somalia’s Dekedaha in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32, played at Cairo International Stadium.
