Heart of Lions will look to maintain their unbeaten record in the Ghana Premier League when they travel to the Baba Yara Stadium against FA holders, Asante Kotoko on Sunday, September 5.
The Kpando based club pipped Dreams fc by 1-0 in the opening day fixture before whitewashing Eleven Wonders by 4-1 in week two at their own backyard.
Head coach of the club, Bashir Hayford’s side nailed Bechem United by 1-0 in week three and the experienced trainer wants to keep the winning streak against his former club, Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“We are playing eighteen Premier Clubs, they are all premier clubs, they are all good [and] I’ve played [against] Kotoko and Gold Stars before, I have played against Hearts of Oak before just quite recently.
“So nothing pushes us that it’s an extraordinary or special matches so we should prepare specially [but] what we are doing is that, we are preparing normally and make sure that the players get their confidence [and] if they get their confidence, they will bring out what is in them,” Bashir Hayford told Mo TV.
“We know we will play them whether today or tomorrow so it doesn’t put fear on anybody [because] we are rubbing shoulders with all the teams that are in the Premier League [and] once we are also in the premier league, we are also ready to rub shoulders with every club that is also in the Premier League.
“Everybody wishes to maintain whatever is good for him [and] it’s good for us so we want to maintain.”
Heart of Lions produced a fine finish last season where they came second and they will look to keep that momentum in the current campaign.
