Goalkeepers’ trainer of Heart of Lions Stephen Ahorlu has told Radio Gold Sports that, the club is bent on sustaining the high level performance they displayed last season.
The Kpando-based club ended the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign in second with 60 points after 34 matches – missing the title by three points to debut winners, Gold Stars.
Ahorlu, who joined the technical department of the side after injury halted his goalkeeping career, believes that they will work hard to keep the fire burning in next season’s campaign.
“As you can see, last two years was not good for us so the following season we just prepared well to correct our mistakes to achieve what we achieved last season.
“Our target [last season] was first to sixth and by the grace of God we finished in second position and we are grateful. The whole club has improved, the players are now doing well and goals are coming. In all the players performance is good [and we will do well next season].”
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and end on the weekend of May 23/24, 2026.
