Ghana: Hearts coach Didi Dramani frustrated by strikers’ goal drought

Head coach of Hearts of Oak Mas Ud Didi Dramani has expressed worry over the club’s failure to translate their performance into goals.

The Phobians have struggled to score this season, managing 19 goals and conceding just nine times.

They have failed to win their last three matches, posting a stalemate at home to Berekum Chelsea, losing 2-1 at holders GoldStars and being held to a goalless draw in week 25 by Holy Stars on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak have conceded just nine times this season

Didi Dramani said: “The outcome we had envisaged is not what we want and we knew we were going to play against a transitional side with two very strong wingers in the persons of Prince Tweneboah and Gideon Quaison,” Didi Dramani said after the game.

“We knew about them and we knew they were going to sit back any time they lost the ball but I think the greater part of the game we controlled but still think that we need to improve on our decision making in very key moments of the game.

Dramani believes there is more work to do

The experienced coach who once managed Asante Kotoko says there is still more work to do in order to reach the needed height.

“I think it’s still work in progress and we could have lost the game and so it is always better to have a point rather than not having a point at all.

“We have had a lot of possibilities to have improved ourselves in the league log which I normally don’t want to speak about but we keep refusing to be there because we have not been consistent in terms of being clinical in our offensive play but I think that we are still building strongly but we need to turn those into positive outcomes.”

Hearts of Oak are 4th on the league table with 41 points, same as two time champions Aduana FC, five behind leaders Medeama and four adrift of holders GoldStars who sit second after 25 games.
