The record Ghana FA Cup holders mutually ended their marriage with the burly striker after he failed to replicate his once blistering form previously seen at Bibiani GoldStars.
A statement on the club’s official social media handles read:
“Accra Hearts of Oak wishes to formally announce the mutual termination of our contract with player, Prince Kwabena Owusu.
“We appreciate his commitment and wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
The 28-year-old failed to break into the starting eleven, managing just six games in the Phobians shirt.
The presence of youngsters Hamza Issah and Frank Abora Duku, coupled with fitness issues made it difficult for Owusu to walk into coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani’s matchday squads.
Owusu joined the Phobians on a free transfer after leaving Saudi Arabia club, Al Hedayah.
