Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has assured fans that the club will soon return to its glorious days on the domestic and the continental scene.

The Phobians look likely to miss out on the 2024/25 league season after last claiming the domestic title in the 2020/21 campaign under coach Samuel Boadu. The record Ghana FA Cup holders are the only Ghanaian club to have won a continental treble – the domestic league, CAF Champions and the Super Cup in the 2000-21 season but have now fallen short of their sparkling days.

Notwithstanding their struggles, Ouattara remains confident that the club will come good with time.

“A time will come when Hearts of Oak will rise again and perform excellently. It will feel like magic—a true moment of transformation and evolution,” the Ivorian told Ghana’s Asempa fm.

“We’re taking each game seriously. Our goal is to win all remaining matches and finish strong,” he assured supporters.

“If we don’t win the league, we must reflect deeply and ask: What went wrong?” he added. “It’s important we understand the causes and work hard to address them.”

“Our vision is clear. This club has a proud history and passionate supporters. We are working not just for short-term gains, but for long-term success,” Ouattara said.

Hearts of Oak’s next fixture is away to former Premier League champions Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in Matchday 31.
