The Competitions Committee of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced the disciplinary decisions following the 2025/2026 Egyptian Super Cup, which was won by Al Ahly after defeating Zamalek 2-0 in the final held at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE.
The sanctions were particularly tough on both Al Ahly and Zamalek, as the two clubs faced the heavy penalties issued by the EFA’s Competitions Committee. Each side was fined EGP 100,000 ($20000) for collective offensive chants from their supporters during the final, while individual players from both teams — Ahmed Mostafa Zizo of Al Ahly and Juan Bezerra of Zamalek — were also fined for breaching the post-match ceremony protocol.
The disciplinary measures reflected the committee’s strict stance on maintaining order and discipline in high-profile domestic competitions.
Al Ahly were crowned champions of the Egyptian Super Cup after defeating arch-rivals Zamalek 2-0 in the title decider.
