Ghana Premier League newcomers, Hohoe United FC, have sacked head coach Tijani Abdul Bashiru after their week 17 goalless draw at home to local rivals, Heart of Lions.

The newly promoted club appointed Tijani Bashiru before the start of the current campaign, but after the final game of the first half of the season, Hohoe United are battling in the third half of the league table.

The departure of the former Hearts of Oak assistant coach marks just fine months in charge of Hohoe United, who are looking to maintain their status in the top flight after qualification from the Division One last season.

A statement chanced upon by Panafricafootball read: “The board of Hohoe United Football Club and the club head Coach Bashiru Tijani have agreed to part ways.
