Ghana Premier League: Hohoe United notify FA over withdrawal

Ghana Premier League side Hohoe United have officially notified the Football Association over their withdrawal from the top flight.

The club, who gained promotion from Division One Zone III for the ongoing 2025-26 campaign, have failed to sparkle, occupying 17th spot with 30 points from 27 games, two points away from safety.

Hohoe United were promoted last yearEarlier on Wednesday part of the club’s short statement on their social media handles read: “This decision will be communicated officially to the Ghana Football Association.”

A source close to the club tells Pan-Africa Football that the hierarchy has expressed dissatisfaction with the poor officiating meted out to the club in the ongoing season.

Hohoe United unhappy with officiating

Hohoe United are currently serving a three home match ban, a situation that has fueled anger among the top brass of the club.

The club described the decision as a difficult one, signaling the end of their participation in the 2025/26 season.

Hohoe United are billed to play bottom placed Eleven Wonders on Friday, April 3 in week 28 but reports indicate that, they are highly unlikely to honour the fixture.

The club confirmed the decision to pull out of the league in a letter dated April 1 by the owner Tom Amewu-Duglu.
