The increment is Ksh5 million to the club based in Kakamega, who further club stands to earn additional millions in incentives from the firm if they clinch the Premier League title or reclaim the Mozzart Bet Cup, which they last won in 2023.
Speaking after the betting company confirmed the new deal, Shimanyula told Pan-Africa Football that their mission this season is to win the FKF Premier League title and reclaim the domestic Cup.
Shimanyula further revisited how they almost lost the sponsorship when FKF Premier League title sponsors SportPesa, ordered teams to drop shirt deals that are not part of their company.
βWe have received a renewed deal of Ksh 25 million which is an increase from the previous Ksh20 million. This Ksh5 million is a good addition to the deal at this time when the clubβs ambitions are to win the league title,β Shimanyula told Pan-Africa Football.
βI want to thank Mozzart Bet for keeping trust in Homeboyz, and I promise them we will not disappoint them. We will make sure we keep their flag flying high. Our mission remains to win the league, and also chase for the domestic competition.
βWe want to make sure we play in continental football next season, that is our focus.β
Shimanyula added: βIt was unfortunate because of SportPesa, we were almost losing this deal. Mozzart Bet understood the situation and they have renewed with us and in a bigger way.β
On his part, Mozzart Bet’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility, Frank Okoth, said the clubβs performance was worth rewarding with an improved package.
“Mozzart is proud to be a reliable partner of Kakamega Homeboyz, and are showing our commitment by extending our partnership for one more year to a tune of Ksh 25 million,β said Okoth.
βThe team has performed well, and this financial boost is aimed at improving their chances of winning this season’s FKF Premier League.β
The latest agreement marks the sixth consecutive year of partnership between the two entities, who first joined forces in 2020.
Homeboyz are currently sitting sixth on the Premier League table with 28 points, 12 fewer than leaders Gor Mahia. Homeboyz have won seven matches, drawn seven and lost four.
In the domestic competition, Homeboyz kicked off their campaign for a second title with a 5-1 win over Kisumuβs Amani Youth in a Round of 64 fixture at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Mamboleo.
