Horoya AC crowned 2024/25 Guinea Ligue 1 Pro champions

Horoya AC were crowned champions of the Guinea Ligue 1 Pro for the 2024/25 season. The Conakry giants ended their two-year league title drought to return to the top over the weekend.

After missing out on the title for two consecutive seasons, Horoya were forced to rebuild their squad with a mix of veterans and emerging talents. They secured the title after a 1-1 draw against Flamme Olympique. Last season’s champions, Hafia, were held to a goalless draw by Renaissance, leaving Horoya unreachable with three games to spare.

Under the leadership of Soufiane Souaré, Horoya returned to the summit. The club amassed 52 points. Renaissance and Hafia are second and third with 39 and 38 points, respectively, as they battle to secure second place in the remaining rounds. Horoya will now prepare for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League. The record Guinea champions reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League twice, in 2018 and 2019.
