Egypt coach Hossam Hassan expressed his anger and refused to answer a question during the press conference held ahead of Egypt’s match against Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Egypt will face Nigeria on Saturday at 4:00 PM GMT at the Mohammed V Sports Complex, in the third-place playoff of the AFCON tournament.
A Moroccan journalist posed what was considered a provocative question to Hossam Hassan, prompting the Egypt coach to decline commenting. In a strange way, Moroccan media members repeated the same question more than once.
The journalist asked:
“Do you blame your failure to score against Senegal on the Moroccan stadiums and hotels?”
Hossam Hassan responded briefly, saying:
“This is a disrespectful question, and I will not answer it.”
Egypt failed to reach the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after being eliminated in the semi-finals, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Senegal last Wednesday.
The Pharaohs will now compete for the bronze medal when they take on Nigeria in the third-place match.
