Kaizer Chiefs FC marketing director Jessica Motaung says they have given coach Nasreddine Nabi all the resources to succeed, and they remain confident he will stay with the South African club.
The Tunisian’s future with AmaKhosi remains uncertain, with some quarters suggesting he will leave at the end of the season. The former Yanga SC’s mentor also seemed to cast doubt on his future with the Soweto giants. He told SuperSport TV earlier this week that he would only guarantee his future with the team once management buys him quality players.
However, speaking to Newzroom Africa TV on Tuesday, Motaung insisted they gave Nabi all the resources to deliver the goods. She said such support enabled the coach to win the Nedbank Cup after beating Orlando Pirates 2-1 last weekend.
“A three-year foundation has been laid. The coach has been given the resources he needs to do what he needs. There has been support commercially and financially. We have brought a strong technical team,” Motaung said.
“We have seen what they can do with this Nedbank Cup...How can we not be confident in him when we have just won the Nedbank Cup and he is doing the work he needs to do?”
The Chiefs director added that club management would review the season with the coach “and see what needs to change and to be added, but our commitment is to make sure he is successful.”
Despite the Nedbank Cup success, the Glamour Boys are enduring one of their worst seasons in the Betway Premiership, lying in ninth place in the log table, 27 points behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
