The Tigers will host the Owls at the MKM Stadium, looking to bounce back from a 0-3 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in their last outing.
Despite the Owls’ struggles this season, the Nigerian international told Hull Live that Hull City must remain cautious and focused on the task at hand.
“One hundred per cent, there are no easy games in the Champ.
We have to be on it. We can’t drop our levels just because of where they are in the table, because if you do that in this, in this league, you’ll get punished.”
Ajayi further emphasized that while the Tigers expect a difficult encounter, the squad is prepared for the challenge.
“We have to be at the top of our game. We’ll make sure we are. I’m expecting a tough game from them. We’ll be on it, and we’ll be ready, we’ll be ready for what they have to bring.”
Sheffield Wednesday currently occupy the bottom spot on the Sky Bet Championship table with only 11 points, while Hull City sits in 5th place as they continue their push for a promotion playoff berth.
