New Hearts of Oak striker Abdul Aziz Adam has indicated that he was not really under pressure after making his debut for the Phobians.

Aziz Adam, who joined the record FA Cup holders on transfer deadline day, played his first game as a substitute in Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 home win over Heart of Lions at the Legon Stadium on Friday, December 31.

The 22-year-old in an interview with Hearts media expressed confidence in delivering when given enough time.

“It was great to be in this club for the first time and giving me this kind of opportunity and Insha Allah small small [I will perform]."

Asked whether he was under pressure in his first appearance, the young striker replied in the negative.

“Not really, first game for every player is just a moment and I was ok with waiting but with time Insha Allah I will deliver.” Aziz Adam told Hearts media.

Aziz Adam joined Hearts of Oak from second tier Division One League club Tamale City in a bid to bolster the attacking line of the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup winners.

The Phobians managed to squeeze all three points from a stubborn Heart of Oak on Friday following Mawuli Wayo’s 50th minute penalty at the Legon Stadium.

The win sent the 2000 CAF Champions League winners into a temporary 4th spot on 33 points after 19 league matches of the Ghana Premier League.
