“I will give my all to help Ararat achieve its aim” - Guinea youngster Diakite

Guinean forward Amadou Diakite has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Armenian top-flight club FC Ararat.


The 20-year-old, who formerly featured for home club, Wakriya AC completed his move on February 15 and is set to make his debut in the coming days.


In an interview with Africafoot, Diakite expressed his profound thanks to his former club while looking forward to the challenges ahead. “I am very happy to join this Armenian Premier League club. I thank Wakriya AC for these years of training and trust. This club has given me a lot,” he said.


Ararat, are ninth in the Armenian Premier League table and they will be hoping Diakite can bring a lot of bite in their attack as they push for a stronger finish in the second half of the season with 10 matches left.


He said: “With Ararat, I will give my all to help the team achieve its goals, including moving up the standings in the second half of the championship.


“The remaining 10 matches will be crucial and I want to make my contribution, as we are currently ninth out of 11 teams,” he added.


Diakite is regarded as one of the most promising talents to emerge from the Guinean championship in recent years. The second phase of the Armenian Premier League season kicks off on Tuesday, February 25, with Ararat set to face Gandzasar on Friday.


Diakite will look to make an immediate impact and help lift his new club up the table.
