Ibenge calls for respect as Azam FC face Fountain Gate

On the part of the team captain, Lusajo Mwaikenda, he has said the tactics they will use in the game will have positive results for the team.

‘Azam have to be respectful’

“All the games are different and tough, we have to be respectful, to respect ourselves, to respect our opponents, and also respect football,” Ibenge told Pan-Africa Football.

“We know we do the same job for every game, and it is not normal to say that it could be a small game.

“So, they work hard also, and it will be a tough game, we have to be really focused, really respectful, and to play good football, to be serious, if not, we are going to lose, and our aim is to go to the next stage.”

Fountain Gate discuss tactics

Fountain Gate Assistant Coach, Abubakar Ali has said technically the CRDB Bank Confederation Cup games are different from the Premier League so the tactics will have to change.

“Tactically, we are going to play a knockout game, which is very different from the league, if you win you progress, if you lose you go out, and that is something we have told our players to be aware of,” said Ali.

“Cup games and league games are very different, but we have prepared very well, We know Azam FC, we know the quality they have, we know what they can do on a good day, but our focus is to make sure we stop them.”

Ali further stated they expect the game to be difficult and their preparations have taken that into account.
