Ibom Angels advance to quarterfinals of Federation Cup

Two-time President Federation Cup finalists (2017 and 2018) Ibom Angels FC have advanced to the quarterfinals of the ongoing competition as they defeated Delta Queens FC 1-0 in a tightly contested match at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Saturday.
The decisive moment arrived in the 39th minute when Ugobest Osuji converted for the Orange Ladies through a penalty kick, showcasing the team's determination to progress in the competition after missing out on the Super Six playoffs this season.
Ibom Angels showcased strong performances across the pitch, from goalkeeper Godstime Dickson to the midfield engine room of Mirian Okocha, Ugobest Osuji, and Wami Georgline, who was later substituted for Dianabasi Jumbo.
The attacking line, spearheaded by captain Abasiofon Uwah, Ijeoma Oneamgba, and Ayishat Raheem, who came on for Victory Jacob, consistently challenged the Delta Queens FC defense, which featured Paul-Ben Ayebapreye, Godsgift Afigbediat, Helen Daniel, and Eyitemi Omagbemi.

Nasarawa Amazons FC secured their spot in the next round with a narrow 2-1 win against Bayelsa Queens FC. Edo Queens showcased their strength with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Osun Babes, and Rivers Angels delivered a commanding 5-0 defeat to First Mahi. Remo Stars Ladies also progressed with a 2-1 win over Dannaz Ladies, and Heartland Queens demonstrated their attacking prowess with a 5-0 victory against Onimarg.
