Ibrahim Salah, assistant coach of Zamalek, spoke after his team’s goalless draw against Al Masry in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Salah said, according to Yallakora:
“Zamalek enter every match aiming for victory, but this result can be considered positive given the difficult circumstances the team is currently facing, especially with several absences and a high number of injuries.”
He added:
“We are looking to improve our situation in the next match and regain the top spot. The return of injured players and experienced names will be very important, but the point we earned is appreciated, and we hope the coming period will be better.”
Salah went on to explain the challenges faced by the technical staff, stating:
“A number of players featured in more than one position, while some players only recently returned after international duty with the national team. In addition, there were absences that clearly affected the lineup.”
He concluded:
“The players made a great effort despite the circumstances, and we tried to activate the attacking side. The team showed a good performance, especially in the second half. The next stage requires more cooperation from everyone in order to deliver stronger performances and achieve better results.”
