Celta Vigo midfielder Ilaix Moriba’s return to the Guinea national team could hit a snag as he sits out with a knee injury.
The 23-year-old was called up by Syli National Team head coach, Paulo Duarte, an invite that would end an 18-months’ absence from the senior national team.
With the knee injury, Ilaix Moriba is out for this weekend and uncertain for his return to the national team who are set to face Benin and Togo in Morocco in the friendlies.
The former Valencia loanee is already suspended for Celta Vigo against Deportivo Alavés on Sunday, March 22 as he rests and receives treatment.
The former RB Leipzig midfielder enforcer who has made an impressive 23 appearances for Celta Vigo this season, previously represented Spain at the U-17 ane U-18.
The Barcelona graduate switched to play for Guinea, making a mark with the U-23 before earning a senior debut in 2022 where he has 25 caps so far.
