Feyenoord head coach Robin van Persie has rebuffed claims regarding an injury concern for Algerian forward Anis Hadj Moussa. The Eredivisie leaders lost to PSV in their week 10 clash, as Moussa appeared to struggle throughout the game.
In a crucial match dominated by Moroccan and PSV midfielder Ismael Saibari, Moussa was seen holding his thigh several times.
Nonetheless, head coach van Persie dismissed any reports of an injury scare. “I thought Anis was going to have to come off. I saw him touch his thigh and immediately asked our doctors for their opinion. We still checked with the medical staff, but he was fine,” said the former striker.
Moussa is expected to start in the week 11 game against FC Volendam this weekend. The 23-year-old Algerian international has been instrumental in Feyenoord’s brilliant start to the season, contributing four goals and one assist in nine games.
With the injury concerns dismissed, Feyenoord hopes to bounce back to winning ways and tighten their lead at the top of the standings.
