The 25-year-old has found his mojo under manager Peter Bosz, a form that helped him contribute significantly to Morocco’s run up to the finals at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
Saibari played seven matches and scored one goal at the AFCON but the Atlas Lions shockingly lost to Senegal in the final 1-0 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium back in January.
In the absence of Saibari, PSV lost 2-1 at FC Volendam however a week later he featured and provided an assist as PSV hammered SC Heerenveen 3-1 at the Philips Stadion and was rated a 7.5.
He scored the subsequent week as PSV fell 3-1 away to Heracles Almelo and received a 6.5 rating for his performance with all the results combining to earn him the award of February.
Saibari is expected to become The Red and Whites most expensive outgoing transfer of this coming summer as the Dutch club look to cash in on the Morocco international.
Morocco and PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari has been named the Eredivisie Player of the Month for February, marking the second time he has received the award this season after previously winning it in October.
The 25-year-old has been one of PSV’s standout performers during the current campaign and continues to impress with consistent displays in midfield. His ability to influence games both offensively and defensively has made him a key player for manager Peter Bosz as PSV continues to compete at the top of the Dutch league.
Saibari played a crucial role in several important matches during February. The Moroccan international scored in PSV’s impressive 3-0 home victory against Feyenoord, delivering a strong performance that helped his team secure a comfortable win against one of their biggest rivals in the Eredivisie.
He also found the net in PSV’s 2-1 away victory against FC Groningen, once again proving his importance to the squad. In those matches, Saibari received strong match ratings of 7.5 and 7 respectively, highlighting his consistent impact on the pitch.
Under manager Peter Bosz, Ismael Saibari has rediscovered excellent form this season. The midfielder has shown confidence, creativity, and composure in midfield, qualities that have helped PSV maintain strong results domestically. His ability to drive forward with the ball, create scoring opportunities, and contribute goals has made him one of the most influential players in the squad.
Saibari’s performances at club level have also carried over to the international stage with Morocco. The midfielder played an important role in Morocco’s journey to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which was hosted on home soil.
During the tournament, Saibari featured in seven matches for the Atlas Lions and scored one goal as Morocco advanced to the final. The team’s impressive run generated excitement among fans across the country, but their hopes of lifting the trophy were ultimately dashed when they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Senegal in the final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in January.
Despite the disappointing result in the final, Saibari’s performances during the competition further strengthened his reputation as one of Morocco’s most promising midfielders.
Back at club level, PSV experienced how valuable Saibari is to the team when he was absent from the lineup. The Dutch side suffered a 2-1 defeat away to FC Volendam during a match in which Saibari did not feature.
However, the midfielder quickly made his presence felt upon returning to the team. In the following week, Saibari provided an assist in PSV’s convincing 3-1 victory over SC Heerenveen at the Philips Stadion, earning a solid match rating of 7.5 for his performance.
He continued his run of contributions the following week when he scored during PSV’s 3-1 away defeat against Heracles Almelo. Although PSV did not secure the result they hoped for in that match, Saibari’s goal once again demonstrated his attacking ability from midfield. He received a rating of 6.5 for that performance.
Taken together, Saibari’s goals, assists, and overall performances throughout February played a major role in earning him the Eredivisie Player of the Month award for the second time this season.
With his impressive form continuing, Ismael Saibari is also attracting interest ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Reports suggest that PSV could potentially cash in on the Morocco international, who may become the club’s most expensive outgoing transfer if a major European club decides to secure his signature.
For now, Saibari remains focused on helping PSV achieve success this season as the Dutch giants continue their pursuit of domestic honors.
