Kings Kangwa opened the scoring for Hapoel Be’er Sheva on Sunday but the Israeli Premier League leaders were fortunate to escape with a point at home in a 1-1 result against Hapoel Haifa.
The Zambian fired in a second goal in as many matches to continue his hot form since returning to Israel following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. After enduring a disappointing AFCON campaign with Chipolopolo, Kangwa has 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 Premier League matches.
It appeared that the hosts would extend their league winning streak to five matches on Sunday after Kangwa produced an opportunistic strike in the 23rd minute.
However, Hapoel Haifa’s direct style of play created plenty of problems for the hosts and the club located in the lower half of the league table surprisingly asserted themselves. Shortly after the opening goal, Alon Turgeman equalized to leave the teams level at the half.
The match evened out a bit after halftime but it was a disappointing effort in the end from the leaders, who are seven points ahead of second place Beitar Jerusalem.

The Camels will next host Hapoel Petah Tikva, setting up a duel between Kangwa and compatriot Chipyoka Songa.
Kangwa continues to do his part after a middling first half of the 2025-26 campaign. The reigning Premier League’s Foreign Player of the Year now has 8 goals and 5 assists in 27 matches across all competitions this season.
