Wrexham have added further strength to their squad with the signing of Burkina Faso international, Issa Kabore, who arrives on loan from Manchester City for the 2025/26 season. The 24-year-old right-back becomes the club’s 12th summer recruit.

Although yet to feature for Pep Guardiola’s first team since joining them in 2020, Issa Kabore brings a wealth of top-level experience from loan spells across Europe. The Burkina Faso international has played in Belgium, France, England, Portugal, and Germany, collecting 137 senior appearances.

After beginning his career at Rahimo FC in his homeland, Kabore earned his move to Europe with Mechelen before developing further at Troyes and Marseille, where he made his Champions League debut. A season in the Premier League with Luton Town followed, before splitting last year between Benfica and Werder Bremen.

On the international stage, the full-back has already amassed 49 caps for Burkina Faso, scoring twice. He shone at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named Young Player of the Tournament after recording three assists and helping his country reach the semi-finals.

Issa Kabore’s arrival at the SToK Cae Ras will add extra depth and competition on the right flank, where his new teammates Ryan Longman and Ryan Barnett have featured early in the Championship campaign.
