Ivan Juric uncertain of Ademola Lookman’s future at Atalanta

Atalanta manager Ivan Juric admits he is uncertain about the future of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, who has been pushing for a move away from the club.

Juric addressed the ongoing tension in a press conference on the eve of Atalanta’s league encounter against Parma this Saturday evening. He stated, “I don’t know anything about Lookman; it’s difficult to hazard a guess on what will happen or if he will remain.”

The uncertainty follows Lookman’s recent push to join Serie A rival Inter Milan. The Nigerian international, who had a standout season for Atalanta, went to extreme lengths to force the transfer. He reportedly submitted a transfer request, deleted all club-related posts from his social media, and was absent from training for several weeks, citing “broken promises” from the club.

Lookman returned to training last week after Inter Milan pulled out of the deal. However, he has not yet been fully reintegrated into the team, and his future remains uncertain.

Sources in Italy suggest that if the forward is not sold before the transfer deadline, Atalanta could potentially freeze him out of the squad until the January transfer window, or even for the entire season, as a consequence of his actions.
