Ivorian left-back Ghislain Konan has completed his transfer to Portuguese side Gil Vicente on a one-year deal.
The former ASEC Mimosas and Stade de Reims player had an unsuccessful stint at Spanish Segunda División side Burgos.
The industrious defender only featured in a few games for Burgos, and his move was expected.
"Gil Vicente FC announces that it has reached an agreement to sign Ghislain Konan on a one-season contract," said the Primeira Liga outfit.
Upon his transfer, Konan told the club's media that he is happy with the move. "I am very proud and very happy to be part of this family. It is very special, first of all because it is a country that I love very much, and I am very happy to be back."
Konan has been a full Ivory Coast international since 2017 and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023 on home soil.
He was included in the AFCON 2023 Team of the Tournament. He received the same accolade in the 2022/23 season while playing for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
