“Côte d’Ivoire is an excellent team made up of very good players. We’re used to facing them, especially some Premier League players like Adingra,” the former Tottenham Hotspur forward was quoted by Le Media 100 Filter.
“It’s one of the African teams with the best ball possession we’ve faced recently.
“They deliver technically rich football, both collectively and individually. It’s a team that has the potential to go far in the World Cup.”
Ivory Coast, who will face Germany, Ecuador and Curacao in Group E at this year’s tournament, shot themselves ahead through Evann Guessand and Simon Adingra before the half time break.
Martial Godo and Wilfried Singo completed the rout in the 62nd minute and in added time.
The three time African champions will next play Scotland at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool.
