Nicolas Jackson scored for the first time in four and a half months on Saturday to hand Chelsea a crucial victory over Everton on Matchday 34 of the Premier League. The Senegalese forward had been in a goal drought after a lengthy spell of injury woes and a lack of form.
Jackson scored from the edge of the box in the first half following a poor play by Guinea-Bissau striker Beto in the middle of the park, giving the Blues a silver lining in their race for a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. The 23-year-old striker now has ten league goals this season following Saturday's goal against Everton.
Head coach Enzo Maresca still highly rates the striker and Jackson may start in the Europa Conference League semifinal first leg against Djurgården on Thursday. As things stand, Chelsea are fourth on the Premier League table with 60 points.
