Jérémie Boga moves on loan to Italian giants

Ivory Coast national team attacker Jérémie Boga will look to ignite his 2025-26 season on loan in Italy’s Serie A after a loan move was confirmed for the 29-year-old to join Juventus from French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice.

Along with Nigerian striker Terem Moffi, Boga has elected to continue his club career elsewhere after the two players were given time away from the pitch following an attack by Nice supporters after a training session in early December.

The French-Ivorian winger had not appeared for Nice since the incident, with his last action on the pitch coming in a November 30 defeat to Lorient. That week, in the midst of a poor run of form, a group of approximately 400 supporters assaulted and racially abused the two players outside of the club’s training grounds.

For Boga, the talented playmaker will have a fresh start after moving in and out of the XI for Nice. He offers a versatile option as well as previous experience in the Italian top flight with Atalanta and Sassuolo. Boga contributed 20 goals and 14 assists in 136 Serie A appearances with the two clubs.

He also has over twenty appearances with the Ivory Coast national team but did not make the Elephants’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad. His last appearances for the West African nation came during a June 2025 international break when he came off the bench in friendly matches against Canada and New Zealand.

Juventus will also have an option to purchase Boga permanently. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, I Bianconeri can acquire him beyond his loan for the price of €5 million.

Juve are currently 4th on the Serie A table, ten points back of leaders Inter Milan. They also qualified to the Round of 32 in the UEFA Champions League this past week, finishing 12th on the league phase table. Their next match is on Thursday in the Coppa Italia, where they will face one of Boga’s former clubs Atalanta.
